  • Ever heard of a hose bibb? That’s a fancy plumbing term for your outdoor faucet. Before the frost hits, you’ll want to do a few things to get it ready for fall. First, drain out the water. While you’re at it, inspect it for leaks and fix any ahead of time. Then, shut off the water supply line for the bibb. Lastly, consider buying a hose bib cover. They are usually made of foam, and they can ward off the chill.
  • We know, there’s never a good time for an issue with your sewer system. But pairing a sewer line problem with subzero temperatures that can cause the ground to freeze is something you do not need. The time to have an inspection or preventative maintenance done is spring and summer.
  • The average water heater is designed to have an operational life of around 8-12 years. In order to ensure your meets or exceed that lifespan, you’ll want to schedule preventative maintenance, like a water heater flush. This kind of service can help you save money on your utility bills, and increase water efficiency. Plus, do you really want to deal with a broken water heater in the beginning of December?
